. BSR Grassroots provides family support, works with people with disabilities, their carers, and develops community centres and community dialogue. The Challenging Poverty team .... The Equalities & Inclusion team works in partnership with local communities to: Raise awareness of disability and carers issues Influence positive change Promote and develop inclusive communities Develop BSL interpreted services across the Diocese Recruit, train and develop a team of volunteers The Family Life team was set up to support: - Families of children where their education is suffering through difficulties in the home
- Working with fathers
- Families in play - helping parents to develop play with their children
- Families of prisoners, prisoners and ex-offenders returning from prison
- The provision of child contact in child contact services
- Supervised Child Contact Service in East Lancashire
- The building of partnerships in local communities in support of families, with:
- local parishes
- other Diocesan agencies
- other Statutory & voluntary organisations
We have in recent years: - Carried out research into the needs for supported child contact centres in Lancashire
- Supported asylum seekers and refugees in Blackburn with Darwen
- Supported community development through young families
